If you missed it in our newsletter yesterday, we had a feature piece on Dana McIntyre, the president of Planted Roof, a local LiveRoof installer. To read about additional benefits of green roofs check out this article in the Environmental Leader about how green roofs can save businesses money. We advocate all kinds of live roof systems, but realize putting a green roof on your residence isn’t always practical (unless you have a flat or lightly sloped roof) or affordable. If you aren’t able to put one on your rooftop, we ask that you reach out to your local representative, employer or property manager and explain the benefits of a green roof to them urging them to install one on their building or office. Boston is positioned to lead the green movement, but we need to take action. Just look at what Chicago has done. For more information or inspiration check out the largest green roof in NYC.
