The Bean Town has gone electric with the addition of electric car charging stations in metered spots in front of City Hall. These prime parking spots are part of a year-long pilot program in order to promote the use of electric vehicles in Boston. The meters cost about the same as any other meter, but instead of just taking up space the car could be charging itself as well. Currently, the number of electric cars in the city are dismal compared to the total number of registered cars in Boston.
This past year alone, there has been vast increase in promoting electric cars in large cities across the nation, and BGB is proud to say that Boston is one of them.
Hopefully, Boston keeps these forward-thinking ideas coming!
