The clients, owners of a 19th century Victorian house in Newton, came to us wanting to be more comfortable in their home and reduce their heating bill.
The house had an addition built onto it in the late 1980s, which was a separate mechanical zone from the current house.

Phase 1 consisted of energy upgrades to the main house. We insulated the attic, blockers (the open base of the balloon framed wall cavities)  and leaky rubble foundation with spray foam and upgraded the boiler. The two old, inefficient gas-fired boilers that were connected to the radiators were replaced by a new 95% efficient German Engineered Buderus gas-fired boiler.

Phase 2 is likely to be an energy upgrade of the addition.
